2025 Lexus ES Unveiled with EV and Hybrid Options, Up to 685 km Range

Lexus has introduced its new generation ES sedan at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show. This brand is the luxury division of Toyota, and this time it has seen many big changes. Everything from design to engine is new and special. For the first time, this car will be available in both fully electric and hybrid options.
Design changes
The look of the new Lexus ES has become sharper and more modern than ever. For the first time, the company has removed its identity “spindle grille”. Its design also shows a glimpse of Toyota’s BZ3 sedan and LF-ZC concept. Both electric and hybrid versions have different styling – the EV version has a completely closed grille, while the hybrid has a mild air intake.
Exterior features
The new ES has LED headlights in the lower bumper and LED DRLs like Nike logo on top. The charging port is on the front left and it gets up to 21-inch alloy wheels. Motorised door handles and sharp cut-creases give the car a futuristic look. The rear gets integrated LED taillights and ‘LEXUS’ badging, which was never seen before.
Increase in the size of the car
The new Lexus ES has become longer, wider and taller than before. Its length is now 5,140 mm, width 1,920 mm and height is around 1,560 mm. The wheelbase is 2,950 mm. This has made the interior of the car more spacious, especially for the rear passengers.
Interior glimpse
The look of the car has also changed completely from inside. There is a dashboard with brown and black dual-tone theme which has a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It has luxury features like Mark Levinson sound system, electrochromic panoramic sunroof, ottoman rear seats and better noise insulation.
Hybrid variant
- The hybrid model of Lexus ES will be available in two versions – 300h and 350h.
- The 300h will have 2.0 liter (197 bhp) and 2.5 liter (201 bhp) petrol hybrid engines.
- The 350h will only have a 2.5 liter engine but its power will be 247 bhp.
Both will have eCVT gearbox and all-wheel drive option will also be available.
Details of electric version
The EV model will also come in two versions – 350e and 550e.
The 350e will have 224 bhp power, front-wheel drive system and range will be up to 685 km.
The 550e will have all-wheel drive with 343 bhp power and range will be up to 610 km.
This model reaches the speed of 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The battery capacity hasn’t been revealed by the company yet but it is likely to be powered by the same 77 kWh battery as the Lexus RZ.
