2025 Maruti Swift vs Hyundai Grand i10 – Which Hatchback Offers More Value for Money?

2025 Maruti Swift vs Hyundai Grand i10

2025 Maruti Swift vs Hyundai Grand i10 : India has an affair with hatchbacks, and it is mostly because of their compact size. The good mileage and reasonable pricing definitely add up to the sweetness of a hatchback. Through thick and thin, the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 have sustained their existence in this segment.

By 2025, both hatchbacks would have had their facelifts yet remain fresh and competitive. However, which hatchback deserves your money? A comparison of design, features, performance, and pricing will hopefully establish the winning hatchback by 2025.

The 2025 Maruti Swift introduced with a fresh sportier exterior design and sharp LED headlights looks more modern with the introduction of new alloy wheels and a wide front grille. The other is the Hyundai Grand i10 flaunting its designer looks with simple styling, projector headlamps, and chrome highlights. While design-wise both cars manage to grab eyeballs, Swift somehow caters to the slightly sportier taste that appeals to younger buyers.

Swift’s features allow an infotainment system featuring a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start, and rear AC vents. It even gets six airbags as an option on higher variants. Certainly, so does the Grand i10 Nios.

Although with an 8-inch screen, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and connected car tech, it does have a portion of goodies to share for the competition. In terms of safety, while the Grand i10 has 6 airbags in its top trims and barely passed with a 2-star rating from Global NCAP, the new Swift is clearly expected to do so much better in its safety rating.

The newly introduced 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine of the Swift has been tuned for greater mileage with a figure of 82 PS of power while achieving one of the best in class fuel economy ratings of around 25 kmpl. The Grand i10 Nios, available with the 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol engine, is smooth and powerful while just slightly more fuel-inefficient than Swift, managing 83 PS power.

Prices are almost at par for both the cars. The Maruti Swift starts at around ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom), while Grand i10 Nios too has a somewhat similar entry price. However, Maruti has some advantage when it comes to long-term ownership due to its service network and appreciable resale value.

So which hatchback takes the day? On the one hand, if your priority is better mileage, fresh sporty styling, and strong resale value, then the Maruti Swift is the winner for 2025. On the flip side, the Grand i10 Nios would be a good pick if you appreciate a snazzier ride with a handful of extra features. Two wonderful cars, but the Swift, by virtue of a little more, wins out in the battle against competitors for 2025.
