The craze of electric cars in India is increasing day by day. Every big company is preparing to bring new electric vehicles, especially in the budget segment, where there is still a lot of potential. This year some great and affordable EVs are going to enter the Indian market. Let’s know which cars are included in this list:
1. MG Windsor EV Long Range
MG Motor introduced the Windsor EV in the Indian market in September last year. Now the company is also going to bring its long range variant, which will get a larger 50.6 kWh battery pack. The driving range of this new version is said to be around 460 km (on CLTC cycle). There will not be much change in the power figure, but some new features like ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System) are expected to be added. This new version may be available in the market next month.
2. Kia Carens EV
Kia Motors is going to launch the facelift version of Carens in the Indian market on May 8. Soon after this, the electric version of Carens is also likely to be launched, which can be introduced in June. This car has also been seen several times during testing. The design of Carens EV will be similar to the current facelift version, but some EV-specific changes will be seen. It is expected to use the battery pack and motor of Hyundai Creta Electric and its range will be more than 400 km.
3. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is also now ready to enter the market with its first electric vehicle. The company will launch its first electric SUV, e-Vitara, this year. This vehicle was also showcased at the 2025 India Mobility Expo. e-Vitara will come with two battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The larger battery pack in it will give a driving range of more than 500 kilometers. Its delivery is expected to start between August and September 2025. The vehicle is being built on a new skateboard platform called Heartect-e.
4. Toyota Urban Cruiser EV
Toyota is also preparing to strengthen its hold in the electric segment. The company showcased the concept version of the Urban Cruiser EV at the 2025 Auto Expo. This vehicle can be launched in India by the end of the year. The Urban Cruiser EV will also be based on the platform being built in collaboration with Maruti e-Vitara. It will also have 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options. With a larger battery pack, the range of this SUV is likely to be more than 500 km.
