BMW Motorrad is preparing to bring a brand new mid-segment adventure bike to India – its name is BMW F 450 GS. Recently this bike has been seen for the first time during testing in India, due to which many important things have become clear about its design and features.
Farewell to the G 310 series and a new beginning
BMW had discontinued its entry-level bikes G 310 R and G 310 GS in India some time ago. It was not economical for the company to upgrade these bikes according to the new OBD-2B emission norms. Now the F 450 GS is coming to replace them, which is going to be the company’s new entry-level ADV (adventure) bike.
Where was it seen for the first time?
It was first spotted in India during testing near the TVS plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It will be manufactured in India, as BMW and TVS already have a manufacturing partnership.

Global debut and Indian appearance
The first global display of the F 450 GS took place at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. After this, it was also shown in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Now the model that has been seen on the road during testing is production-ready, that is, the last version before the market launch.
What is special in the design?
Its look is largely inspired by the big bike BMW R 1300 GS. Its front will have a beak-style mudguard, small windscreen and powerful fuel tank. Instead of the cross-spoke wheels seen in the concept version, alloy wheels have been seen in this test model, which are similar to the G 310 GS.
Suspension and wheel size
- 19-inch wheels are likely to be found in the front.
- The suspension setup will have USD forks (fully adjustable) at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.
- The concept is said to weigh 175 kg but the production model may be slightly heavier.
- Hand guards i.e. knuckle guards will also be included in it, which will keep the rider’s hands safe.

This setup has been specially designed keeping in mind mid-range performance
Launch and price information
The BMW F 450 GS can be launched in India in the last three months of 2025
It will be produced in India by TVS
Talking about the price, this bike can come between ₹ 3.5 lakh to ₹ 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom)

What do we say?
The BMW F 450 GS can be a great option for riders who are looking for a powerful and practical ADV bike from an international brand, that too under ₹ 5 lakh. The company’s reliable technology, strong design and local manufacturing can make it even more attractive in terms of price and performance.
