Reviving a Long-Frozen Project
Tulbul Navigation Project has long been on the card by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, to stir up political commotion. The Indus Treaty: A Betrayal to J&K?
Omar labeled the Indus Water Treaty as “the ultimate betrayal” of J&K He further reiterated that in all these years people from the region were unjustifiably kept out of their water resources. As he said, reconstructing the Tulbul Barrage is no provocation but a long-overdue justice. His comments drew out support and opprobrium from both sides of the debate online.

Her argument was that the two countries had just calmed down from the cusp of war and these suggestions could well be used to light the fire again. Mufti said peace not provocation required in Jammu and Kashmir.
