Tata Motors is preparing to bring its popular SUV ‘Sierra’ to the market once again. This iconic car will come in two versions this time – one with a petrol / diesel engine and the other as a fully electric model. The company introduced its production-ready model in front of everyone during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January this year.
Launch timing and variants
The Tata Sierra’s ICE i.e. internal combustion engine model can be launched in India by the end of the year 2025. After this, its EV version will also hit the market soon. That is, if everything goes according to plan, then before the end of the year 2025, we can see Sierra on the roads.
It will start with Harrier EV
Tata will first launch its Harrier EV, which is part of the company’s new series of electric vehicles. Only after this the Tata Sierra ICE model will be brought and then the EV version will come.

Classic touch and modern feel will be available in the design
In the new Sierra, the company has given it a strong and modern design while retaining the glimpse of the old model. The most special thing about the car is its all-black roof which is found in a panoramic sunroof, giving it a ‘floating roof’ look.
Sharp lines on the body, bulging muscles and aggressive look give it the feel of a great premium SUV. LED lights have been provided at the rear which extend to the fenders. The D-pillar has been kept dark due to which the side profile also looks very attractive.
Special changes in front face and exterior
Some changes have been made in the ICE version as compared to the EV concept – like a new grille design and new alloy wheels. The front of the car has a wide LED DRL, which spreads across the entire width. There are vertical headlamps at the bottom, along with which the skid plate and large air dam give the SUV a rough-tough appeal.
Engine and battery options
The ICE model can be given a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine and a 2.0 liter diesel engine.
The EV version is likely to get two battery pack options, which can have a range of more than 500 kilometers.
Modern features like fast charging, V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) can also be found in EV.
