The central government has launched a health scheme for its employees and pensioners, which is very beneficial for them as well as their families. This scheme can help them get affordable and good health services. For efficient delivery of service, the management has also introduced a new Health Management Information system called HMIS.
Since 28th April 2025, the digital platform has become operational. The new HMIS claims to be faster and more accessible in delivering healthcare services. The new software ensures transparency and user friendliness. Any individual who is a CGHS member should know the following features
The old software, which has been in operation since 2005, has a new avatar and is now fully equipped with new technology, cybersecurity standards, and frameworks. It has become operational from 28th April 2025. The system is created by C-DAC claiming it to be the fastest, reliable, and secure system. These incredible features have been introduced in the new CGHS, and many more have been included in the next generation HMIS.

PAN-based unique verification
Every beneficiary will now have a unique PAN-based unique verification, which will help in avoiding duplication of records and streamlining the process. For this whole process, individuals have to link their PAN Card to CGHS beneficiary ID through a new portal.
Integrated digital verification and contribution tracking
Bharat Kosh will now automatically verify contribution payments. Problems related to manual entry and refunds will be reduced to a certain extent now. Individuals can now make payments through http://www.cghs.mohfw.gov.ib from 28th April 2025.
Now CGHS website will hold all transactions related to the renewal or issuance of CGHS cards. No longer acceptance of CGHS payments in Bharat Kosh
Pre-payment checking of the application
The application will be verified and approved, providing the details to the applicant regarding eligibility and contribution in advance, reducing the chances of rejection of the application. Now the individuals will know beforehand application will be accepted or rejected prior to making the payment.

Online card modification service
There are multiple Services offered to reduce the time and effort. Online processing of services such as change of dependent status, category, and card transfer can now be done. This whole new upgrade will make the process hassle-free.
Real-time application tracking and alert
SMS and email alerts will be sent at every stage of application processing, giving individuals real-time updates while ensuring transparency. It will further reduce the inquiries as well.
Mandatory password reset for secured access
The users must reset passwords to avoid potential breaches or threats. Individuals should reset their passwords on their first login to ensure security and avoid any breaches
DDO/PAO-based department identification
PAO/DDO codes will be checked to ensure departmental verification. It will further be matched to salary slips, ensuring proper back-end mapping.

The payments made to Bharat Kosh will be automatically cancelled after April 27th, 2025. Individuals will have to apply afresh through a new portal.
All beneficiaries above the age of 18 years have been advised to link their PAN card with CGHS beneficiary ID, and for any corrections beneficiaries can log in through the website. At the same time, the currently issued cards will continue to have normal functionality.
