The adventure bike segment in India is becoming increasingly popular and now Kawasaki has also made a tremendous entry in this race by launching its most affordable ADV bike Versys X-300. The price of this bike has been kept at Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it comes in two great colors – Candy Lime Green Type 3/Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Ocean Blue/Pearl Robotic White. This bike gives direct competition to bikes like Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure and Yezdi Adventure.
This adventure bike has a powerful 296 cc parallel-twin engine, which generates 40 PS of power at 11,500 rpm and 26 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. Such a high rev range makes this bike fast, agile and perfect for long distance riding. The engine is mated to a 6-speed return type gearbox, which makes gear shifting smooth and fast.

The Versys X-300 has a high tensile steel backbone frame and weighs just 179 kg, which makes it more manageable in off-roading. Its fuel tank capacity is 17 liters, which eliminates the hassle of filling petrol repeatedly during long rides. The bike’s seat height is 815 mm, which is comfortable and manageable for most riders.
Talking about the suspension, the front gets a 41 mm telescopic fork with 130 mm of travel, while the rear has a gas-charged shock absorber with Uni-Track system that offers 148 mm of travel. Its rear shock also has the option of preload adjustment, so that you can tune the suspension according to your riding style.
The braking system is also quite reliable. The front has a 290 mm petal disc and dual-piston caliper while the rear has a 220 mm petal disc, that too with a dual-piston setup. This makes the braking performance quite sharp and controlled.
The length of this bike is 2170 mm, width 860 mm and height 1390 mm. Its wheelbase is 1450 mm and trail is 108 mm, which makes the bike stable. The ground clearance is 180 mm, due to which this bike performs well even on light off-roading.

The Versys X-300 has 100/90-19 tires in the front and 130/80-17 tires at the rear, which maintain grip and balance in both adventure and highway riding. Apart from this, the steering angle of the bike rotates up to 40 degrees on both sides, which makes it very easy to turn it in crowded roads or traffic.
Overall, Kawasaki has made a strong claim in the adventure segment through the Versys X-300. Low price, powerful engine, great features and great design make it an excellent option for those riders who want to buy a reliable adventure bike from an international brand in a low budget. This bike from Kawasaki has come as a new hope for entry level adventure riders, which is affordable and does not compromise on quality.
