Upcoming Tata SUVs in India : If you are a fan of Tata Motors or are planning to buy an SUV, then the coming year is going to be very interesting for you. Tata is preparing to strengthen its SUV lineup even more and in 2025-26, the company is going to launch at least 5 new SUVs in India. These include petrol-diesel engines as well as electric versions. Tata has recently launched the 2025 Altroz Facelift, and now it is the turn of a big bang in the SUV segment. Let’s know which powerful SUVs of Tata are going to enter the Indian market in the coming months.
Tata Harrier EV
The price of Harrier EV will finally be announced in the Indian market on June 3. It has already been shown in production-ready form at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This e-SUV will come with a dual motor setup, with one motor on the front and one on the rear axle, and will perform a peak torque of 500Nm through an all-wheel-drive system. The battery details of the Tata Harrier EV have not been made public yet, but it is expected to have a 60-75 kWh battery that can offer a range of 500+ km on a full charge.

Tata Harrier Petrol 2025
The 2025 Harrier petrol version has been spotted several times during testing. This SUV can be launched in India by July-August 2025. It will get a 1.5 liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that will produce 168 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque. This engine will be compliant with BS6 Phase II emission norms and will also be able to run on E20 ethanol-petrol mixture fuel. Customers will get the option of both manual and automatic transmission.
Tata Safari Petrol 2025
The 2025 Safari has also been spotted testing alongside the Harrier facelift. It will get the same 1.5L 3-cylinder TGDi petrol engine that powers the Harrier. The power and torque figures will also be almost identical. However, it could be the first SUV in its segment to get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.5L turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and will now launch with the Harrier and Safari in the coming few months.
Tata Sierra ICE
The ICE-powered Tata Sierra was showcased in pre-production form at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It will be launched in the domestic market around October-November 2025 to take full advantage of the festive season. The Sierra will borrow the 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines from the Safari and Harrier and will have manual and automatic transmission options. It will be Tata’s answer to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti’s upcoming 5-seater mid-size SUV. Prices could start from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Sierra EV
Built on Tata’s Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture, the SUV will come with a 60-75 kWh battery pack, and will offer a range of over 500 km on a single charge. It will get V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) functions as standard. The Tata Sierra EV will be similar to the ICE version in terms of styling, features and safety equipment, with just a few EV-specific changes. It will be positioned below the Harrier EV in Tata’s portfolio.
