Honda has finally launched its first electric motorcycle in China, named Honda E-VO. This bike has been introduced under the banner of Wuyang-Honda, a partnership between Honda and Guangzhou Motors Group. It got type-approval in China in April 2025 and now it has officially come in the market.
The most special thing about this electric bike is its unique design. It has been designed in a cafe-racer look, but futuristic elements have been added to it to give it a modern feel. Round headlight, curved windshield, bar-end mirrors, single seat and fully covered side panels give it a special identity. The bike has 16-inch alloy wheels at the front and 14-inch alloy wheels at the rear, which have semi-slick tires. The seat height has been kept at just 765 mm, so that even short riders will find it easy to ride.
The biggest feature of the E-VO is that it is made of a strong but lightweight chassis of aluminum. This not only makes the bike light but also protects it from rust and bad weather for a long time. It has a large 7-inch TFT display and a small TFT sub-screen, from where you can see things like navigation, music, battery information and tire pressure. The base variant has a front dash cam while the top variant gets both front and rear cameras, which record your ride in 1080p quality.

This bike also includes features like inverted front fork, traction control, dual channel ABS, and side stand motor cut-off. Also, Type-A and Type-C charging ports and 5-step brake adjustment system make it even more advanced.
Now talking about its performance and battery, E-VO has come in two variants. One has a 4.1 kWh battery, which can cover a distance of about 120 kilometers. The second one has a larger battery of 6.2 kWh, which gives a range of about 170 km. The motor output in both variants is 15.8 kW i.e. about 21.5 PS. The top speed is up to 120 km/h, and the bike takes just 2.8 seconds to reach a speed of 0 to 50 km/h. Both variants get a mid-mounted motor and belt drive system which is absolutely quiet and maintenance-free.
Talking about charging, the E-VO can be charged from 20% to 80% in just one and a half hours with a 1.8 kW charger at home. If you charge it with a public AC car charger (3.4 kW), then this time is even less. It can be easily charged at more than 2.15 million charging stations in China. The variant with a larger battery also gets charged from 20% to 80% in just 1.5 hours with a public charger.
The quality of the batteries is also excellent. Honda has provided such lithium batteries in it that retain more than 85% capacity even after 1,500 full charge cycles. That is, they are long-lasting and their performance does not decrease quickly.

At present, this bike has been introduced only for the Chinese market. There has been no official announcement regarding its launch in India. But it is clear from this beginning of Honda that the company is now going to enter the electric two-wheeler segment with full force. In terms of design, technology and performance, this bike has definitely emerged as a premium and future ready option.
