Madhya Pradesh women who are waiting to receive their Ladli Behna Yojana payment may have to wait a bit longer this month. The payment is generally credited between the 10th and the 15th of the month. But July could be different. Reports say the 26th installment might arrive later than expected and this time, in two parts. Here’s everything you need to know about the delay, the bonus amount, and how to check your payment status.
Why This Month’s Payment Might Come Late
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, a program established to assist married women in Madhya Pradesh between the ages of 21 and 60, more than 1.27 crore women receive ₹1,250 per month. Normally, the funds reach beneficiaries’ accounts during the second week of the month. But this time, the money might arrive after the 15th of July.
The reason is the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, which is on August 9.
Extra ₹250 ‘Shagun’ May Be the Reason for Delay
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had earlier announced that all eligible women would receive an additional ₹250 as a Raksha Bandhan gift (shagun). Instead of sending this in August, the government is reportedly trying to include it with the July installment. That’s what’s possibly causing the delay.
As reported by the media, the ₹1,500 will not be received as a lump sum transfer but in two installments: ₹1,250 as the usual installment and ₹250 as the bonus during Diwali. This has therefore resulted in the installment process being delayed slightly.
But what is to be noted here is that no official confirmation has been issued yet of the date of its release.
Bigger Good News After Diwali: ₹1,500 Monthly
While the prevailing monthly amount stands at ₹1,250, CM Yadav has assured raising it to ₹1,500 after Diwali 2025. He further communicated that the state government would raise the monthly amount in phases and take it to ₹3,000 in 2028.
The move is being regarded as a milestone towards strengthening women in the state economically.
What Is Ladli Behna Yojana All About?
The Ladli Behna Scheme was initiated in May 2023 by the then CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the empowerment of married women aged between 21 and 60 years. Women were initially paid ₹1,000 as a monthly allowance. This amount was doubled by the new government to ₹1,250.
The objective is to provide financial independence and security to women belonging to the lower income group and make them more self-reliant.
