Indore man Raja Raghuwanshi was murdered in Meghalaya during a honeymoon trip. His girlfriend Sonam Raghuwanshi and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha are accused of plotting his death with three accomplices.
The Perfect Honeymoon That Turned into a Perfect Murder
Young Raja Raghuwanshi from Indore never thought his romantic trip to Meghalaya would turn into one with blood. Initially a calm getaway with his wife Sonam Raghuwanshi, it quickly began turning into a far more thriller story than intended. From the hills of scenic Shillong, a ruthless plan was already brewing.
The Love, the Lie, and the Plot
Raja did not know that his girlfriend Sonam was traveling with love in her heart. The fact that Raj Kushwaha (the visibly shocked man who attended Raja’s funeral with a lawyer in tow) was allegedly in a relationship with her. Sonam and Raj had allegedly conspired to kill Raja along with three others- Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi & Akash Rajput according to reports. They were taken on the days before the murder to Guwahati with a dao (costing as low as ₹400) a knife-like local weapon.
The Final Setup in the Hills
Raja & Sonam reached Shillong, killer killed customs with a found location once in a while. Dressed as fellow tourists, the men struck up a conversation with Raja and led him deep into the hilly desert. On the 23rd of May Sonam lured Raja to an abandoned place (as per plan) May 23rd. Vishal charged him from behind (as instructed) wielding the dao and Sonam signaled Vishal to strike. Raja went over. Additional hits landed on the body. They launched Raja into a canyon, thinking he was dead — and Sonam played a part in that too.
A Funeral Filled With Guilt
What is even more spine-chilling is that Raj Kushwaha attended the funeral of Raja and his neighbors also went in support of the grief. But police now sources point out the accused were conspiring to flee to Nepal in connection with this Much needed arrests have been made and a further inquiry is on.

Postmortem revealed that Raja had injuries on his head and back that were considered fatal. Sonam was relentless with the men, she kept bugging them to kill even if they hesitated authorities said.
