As the evening hours roll in Delhi’s skies are predicted to darken with thunderclouds ,paving the way for moderate rainfall and winds speeding up to 60 km/h. The sudden weather flip promises not just cooler nights but also a possible break from the ongoing heatwave.

Three-Day Yellow Alert: Delhi Told to Stay Prepared

The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Delhi and surrounding regions, warning of a three day spell of stormy weather. Residents should expect rain showers, lightning strikes and falling temperatures that could bring the maximum down to nearly 33°C. Sunday already saw parts of the capital lashed by strong winds leaving behind broken branches and disrupted power lines a preview of what’s coming.

North India’s Weather Narrative Begins to Shift

It’s not just Delhi feeling the atmospheric mood swing. Eastern Uttar Pradesh is also on IMD’s watchlist with forecasts pointing to light showers through June 22. Meanwhile, Rajasthan is bracing for lightning and possible thunderstorms, between June 16 and 17. The broader narrative of the northern plains , is now shifting from extreme heat to scattered rainfall and sudden cooling spells.

Further west Mumbai is already soaking in early monsoon rains. A Yellow Alert remains in effect with moderate to heavy rainfall ,expected throughout the week. Coastal winds and waterlogging, have already begun to affect daily life as the monsoon builds momentum across the country.
