Planning a Bank Visit This Week? Check This First!
If you’ve been putting off your bank work thinking the week might be packed with holidays, there’s good news—banks will mostly be open between June 17 and June 22, 2025. Only one holiday is scheduled this week, and that too on Sunday, June 22. So, if there’s anything important pending like updating your passbook, withdrawing a huge amount, you’ve got time.
But don’t leave it for the last minute, it’s always better to plan ahead. Saturday, June 21 is open, so make use of it before the weekend rush hits.
Will Banks Be Open on June 21? Here’s What RBI Says
Do banks open on Saturdays? Banking services will be available in the usual manner on June 21. It is probable that it is the third Saturday, and as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays only. So, go ahead and take a stroll in and have your work done on that day.
That being said, some branches do close early or work on a half-day system, depending on the area and bank type. So, better to reach before noon if possible.
Bank Timings for SBI, HDFC, ICICI & More
Now for timings. Govt banks such as SBI, PNB, and Bank of India work between 10 AM to 4 PM. Private sector entities such as ICICI, HDFC, Axis, and Kotak Mahindra work somewhere around 9:30 AM to 3:30 or 4:30 PM.
Bank of Baroda provides a slightly longer timeframe, typically 9:45 AM to 4:45 PM. Canara Bank is more particular from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. Please remember that smaller town branches will have minutely different timings.
June 2025: State-Wise Bank Holidays You Should Know
From June 22 onwards, the undermentioned bank holidays are scheduled at the end of the month. Due to Rath Yatra and Kang festivals, banks in Odisha and Manipur will remain closed on June 27. And then, on June 30, Mizoram banks will remain shut for Remna Ni.
And, of course, don’t miss the weekend offs as usual- June 28 (Fourth Saturday) and June 29 (Sunday).
Online Banking Facilities Will Be Available—Even on Holidays!
Even when branches are closed, your bank isn’t. Services like mobile banking, UPI, net banking, ATM withdrawals, IMPS, and even credit/debit card functions continue round the clock. You can even order a cheque book or request auto-debit setups from your phone.
