A warm wave across Madhya Pradesh on June 16 as more than 1.27 crore women were given ₹1250 under Ladli Behna Yojana. CM Mohan Yadav, in a report filed from Belkheda village, Bargi constituency, released the 25th installment, a commitment which has now turned into a lifeline for millions of families.

It wasn’t because of the money, it was about pride and solidarity with sisters throughout the state. By this modest but significant donation, many can now purchase school fees, fill groceries on their shelves, or even save for something special. It may not mean much to many, but it means their month changes for many women.

A Scheme Born with Women in Mind

Launched on March 15, 2023, Ladli Behna Yojana was aimed at economically empowering the state’s women. Starting from ₹1000 per month, the scheme was later changed to give ₹1250 per month. That is not all, CM Mohan Yadav also gave a heartwarming announcement.

Posting on X (previously Twitter), he stated:

“Along with the ₹1250 instalment, another ₹250 will be given next month as Raksha Bandhan gift to our beloved sisters.”

The act, as symbolic as it was, had an emotional connection in many so the scheme is not only a transaction, it’s a celebration of womanhood.
