Ingredients required for Making Aloo Tikki :

  • Boiled potatoes—4 medium size
  • Bread crumbs—1 cup (or semolina, 1/2 cup, as an option)
  • Green chili (finely chopped)—1
  • Ginger paste—1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves—2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder—1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala—1/2 tsp
  • Chat masala – 1 tsp
  • Salt—according to taste
  • Oil—for frying

Method of Making Aloo Tikki :

Mash the boiled potatoes well. Add ginger, green chili, red chili, garam masala, chaat masala, green coriander, and salt to it. Now add bread crumbs (or semolina) to it and prepare a thick dough for tikki. Take a medium-sized piece of dough from the dough and make round, flat tikkis.

Heat a little oil in a non-stick pan. Fry the tikkis on both sides on medium flame. Bake till it becomes golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with green coriander-mint chutney and sweet tamarind chutney. If you want, you can also eat it in chaat style by adding curd, sev, and pomegranate.
