More than 11 crore Indian farmers are eagerly looking forward to the announcement of the 20th instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. The scheme from the central government provides a cash allowance of ₹6,000 to deserving farmers every year. The money is deposited in three installments of ₹2,000 straight into the bank account of the beneficiaries. Until now, the government has already disbursed 19 installments successfully. Everyone’s eyes are now on the 20th installment, which is to be made in June or early July.
But here’s a catch. If the farmers don’t take care of some really crucial things, this ₹2,000 might not land in their bank accounts. Four such critical steps need to be done so that the payment does not get delayed or rejected.
1. Link Your Aadhaar with Bank Account Immediately
This is compulsory. Unless your Aadhaar number is linked to your bank account, you are inviting the payment to be stuck. The government sends PM Kisan installments directly under Direct Benefit Transfer. And for that, your bank should be Aadhaar-verified. If you haven’t done that, go to your bank or do it online. One minute’s delay in doing this might result in missing the entire installment.
2. Do e-KYC Promptly
e-KYC has been made obligatory by the central government for all the beneficiaries registered under the scheme. Otherwise, your name may get deleted from the beneficiary list. The good part is that there are three easy methods of doing e-KYC:
OTP Verification: If your Aadhaar is associated with your mobile number, then log in to the PM Kisan website and do it by a one-time password.
Biometric Way: Go to the nearest Common Service Centre and authenticate with fingerprint.
Face Recognition: Option for differently abled farmers or elderly persons. Face scanning is available at special CSC centers.
3. Authenticate Land Ownership Details
The program is for genuine owners of cultivable land only. If your land records associated with your Aadhaar or PM Kisan ID are old, incorrect or non-existent, your application will be rejected. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan states have already conducted land record authentication campaigns. So maintain your land details updated and spotless.
4. Verify Application and Bank Status Online
Farmers can get ahead of trouble by double checking their status on the PM Kisan website. Go to pmkisan.gov.in And select Know Your Status or Beneficiary Status. Provide your Aadhaar number, mobile number or registration number.
Also, verify bank details including account number, IFSC code, and spelling of name. Small mismatch will lead to delay.
When Will ₹2000 be Credit?
The last payment of ₹2,000 was credited in February 2025. As per the previous trends, the 20th payment will also be credited between the end of June or July. Prime Minister Modi tends to announce on a special show. But do not wait for the announcement. Do your verification work beforehand so that you don’t lose the chance. Farmers, act now or your installment will be delayed.
