There’s some good news floating around for farmers across India, and honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time. Following weeks of uncertainty and postponements, the government is now ready to disburse the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. But what’s really making headlines is this time some farmers might receive double the usual amount. Instead of Rs 2000, many could get Rs 4000 straight into their bank accounts.
PM Kisan Yojana in Simple Words
The PM Kisan Yojana is a lifeline for crores of small and marginal farmers in India. Farmers meeting criteria receive ₹6,000 annually as financial support, released in three equal installments of ₹2,000 throughout the year. The money is directly sent to their bank accounts through DBT, or Direct Benefit Transfer. The idea is to ease the burden of rising costs in farming and offer some breathing room for daily expenses.
Why This Time It Could Be Rs 4000
Now here’s the twist. As per several media reports, some farmers did not get their 19th installment due to technical issues or incomplete paperwork. Maybe their eKYC was not done or some bank detail was missing. Whatever the reason, it caused a lot of stress for those families. But the bright side is those missed payments could now be clubbed with the 20th installment. That means a straight credit of Rs 4000 into accounts for those who missed out earlier.
