Honda City Sport Edition : Honda has launched a new special version of its popular sedan Honda City in India, which has been named City Sport Edition. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹ 14.88 lakh. This version will be especially known for its sporty look and dark theme. Although no mechanical changes have been made in it, many big changes are seen in the looks.
Black color dominates the exterior
The first change in this new edition is seen in the front grill, where chrome was used earlier, now it has been replaced by a glossy black grill. Along with this, glossy black accents have also been added to the front bumper. The ORVM (side mirrors) of the car are also now seen in dark finish which further strengthens its sporty identity. A ‘Sport’ badge has also been installed at the rear, which makes it look different from the normal model. At the same time, a thin black rear spoiler has also been added which gives it a different identity.
All black theme and red stitching in the interior
Many changes have also been made inside the car. The interior of the Honda City Sport Edition is designed completely in black. Everything from the upholstery of the seats to the dashboard is based on the black theme. Apart from this, red color contrast stitching has been given on the steering wheel, which deepens the sporty feel. With these changes, the interior of the car can attract the youth.

No change in engine and gearbox
While many changes have been seen in the looks, no new thing has been added to its engine. It has the same old 1.5 liter 4-cylinder VTEC petrol engine which gives 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. Only CVT automatic gearbox will be available in this version, that is, there is no option of manual transmission in it. This means that this version focuses completely on looks, not on performance.
Step taken in view of changing trend in the market
Sales of sedan cars in India are continuously declining as now more customers are leaning towards SUV cars. Keeping this trend in mind, Honda has launched this sport version of City so that it can become a new option for those who want a sporty looking sedan. This edition will be available in limited units only, that is, its number will be less in the market.
Talking about color and features, this edition is also strong
Honda City Sport Edition has been introduced in three special colors – Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Meteoroid Gray Metallic. Along with this, it includes features like gray finish alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, Honda Sensing ADAS technology, paddle shifters and touchscreen infotainment system.
