Some even skip it completely. The good news is that you can still enjoy karela in your meals by using a few smart kitchen tricks.

    With these simple and natural tips you can reduce bitterness in karela and turn it into something your whole family can enjoy. Here are five easy ways to make bitter gourd taste much better.

    1. Soak in Buttermilk – Gentle and Effective

    If you are making stuffed karela or just a regular curry this method works well. First peel and deseed the karela and then soak it in buttermilk for around 30 minutes. This helps to soften it and reduce the bitterness. Rinse with plain water before cooking.

    2. Lemon Juice Trick – Tangy Way to Reduce Bitterness
