IMD Alert -Monsoon Winds Finally March Toward North India
The India Meteorological Department IMD has confirmed a big weather update. The southwest monsoon is about to arrive in Delhi Gurgaon Noida Chandigarh and other northern states by June 24. After weeks of scorching heat this change promises much needed relief and marks a major moment in India’s seasonal shift.
Heavy Rains Already Soaking Parts of North and Central India
The monsoon has already covered Ladakh Kashmir most of Himachal Pradesh and parts of Jammu and Punjab. IMD said weather patterns are now right for the monsoon to spread further across northwest India.

With rising humidity and high temperatures the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Delhi NCR .Light or moderate rainfall along with thunder and strong winds up to 50 kilometers per hour are expected. People are advised to stay updated as the first spell of rain may bring sudden changes in weather and road traffic issues.
Rainfall to Boost Sowing Season and Ease Heat Stress
More than just cooling temperatures the upcoming rains will be a big help for agriculture. Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive very heavy or extremely heavy rainfall between June 22 and June 24. This pattern is expected to support sowing for the Kharif season so farmers in central and western India may start early.
Northeast India: Intense Rainfall to Continue
The northeastern states will continue to get heavy rainfall for the next three days and light to moderate showers in the following days. IMD has warned that in hilly areas there could be risks of flooding or landslides.
