SSC MTS Vacancy 2025 (Eligibility Criteria)
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying must have passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board.
Age Limit
The minimum age for general category can be 18 years and maximum 27 years (as on 01 August 2025).
Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per government rules.
Nationality
The applicant must be a citizen of India.
Other Conditions
The applicant should not be disqualified for employment in the Government of India.
Should not be convicted of any offence related to moral turpitude.
SSC MTS Vacancy 2025 (Selection Process)
The selection process of SSC MTS and Havildar Recruitment will be completed in the following stages:
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PST) [For Havildar post only]

Total Duration: 90 Minutes
Question Type: Objective (MCQ)
Both Session 1 and 2 will have questions from different subjects.
Session 1:
Numerical & Mathematical Ability – 20 questions (60 marks)
Reasoning & Problem Solving – 20 questions (60 marks)
Total: 40 questions (120 marks)
Negative Marking: No
Session 2:
General Knowledge – 25 questions (75 marks)
English Language & Comprehension – 25 questions (75 marks)
Total: 50 questions (150 marks)
Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
Physical Efficiency Test (PET/PST) – Only for Havildar post
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Male candidates will have to complete
1600 meter race in 15 minutes
Cycling: 8 km in 30 minutes
Female candidates will have to complete
1 km race in 20 minutes
Cycling: 3 km in 25 minutes
Physical Standard Test (PST):
For Male
Height: 157.5 cm (exemption for some castes)
Chest: 76 cm without inflation, 5 cm difference required on inflation
For women
Height: 152 cm (2.5 cm exemption for some castes)
Weight: 48 kg (up to 2 kg exemption for some)
SSC MTS Vacancy 2025 (Salary Details)
The pay scale for SSC MTS and Havildar posts will be decided as per the Seventh Pay Commission.
Pay Level – 1, Monthly salary from ₹18,000 to ₹22,000
Grade Pay: ₹1800
Additional allowances like HRA, TA etc. are also included in the salary.
