Ingredients to make Matar Chaat :
Dry green peas (soaked)
1 cup boiled potato (chopped)
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
Tomato (finely chopped): 1 medium
Green chili (finely chopped) 1
Coriander leaves (finely chopped): 2 tbsp
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste.
Sweet chutney (tamarind jaggery): 2 tbsp (optional)
Green chutney 1 tbsp (optional)
Method to make Matar Chaat :
Soak dry green peas for 6-8 hours or overnight. Then boil in a pressure cooker with a little salt for 2-3 whistles till they become soft. Add onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves. Add chaat masala, roasted cumin, salt, red chili, and lemon juice on top. If you want a spicy street style, then add sweet chutney and green chutney as well. Mix well and serve immediately.
