Light to moderate rainfall expected in Uttar Pradesh on June 25 IMD issues yellow alert for 73 districts

Monsoon Enters UP but Weakens Quickly

The monsoon has arrived in Uttar Pradesh but its impact has weakened in most areas. On June 25 the India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert in 73 districts for lightning and rain. Some places may see heavy showers or thunder but others may not see much rainfall.

Monsoon May Advance Further in Western UP

IMD has said that the conditions are still good for the monsoon to move further in western parts of Uttar Pradesh and the northern parts of the Arabian Sea. Skymet Weather shared that a cyclonic circulation has formed in central Uttar Pradesh at a height of 5 point 8 kilometers and it could cause rain in some regions.

Patchy Rainfall Recorded Across the State

In the last 24 hours only a few places in Uttar Pradesh saw good rainfall. Bareilly got the most with 54 millimeters. Bilaspur in Rampur received 35 point 6 millimeters and Purwali in Mainpuri recorded 35 millimeters. Kannauj had 32 point 5 and Gorakhpur got 32 point 4 millimeters. But most districts saw very light rain or stayed dry.

Orange Alert in Saharanpur and Moradabad

IMD has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in Saharanpur and Moradabad. Yellow alert is also active in Shamli Muzaffarnagar Meerut Baghpat Amroha Bareilly Pilibhit Jalaun Jhansi and Lalitpur for possible thunderstorms or rainfall. Some areas could see sudden lightning activity in the evening or night.

High Humidity and Heat Trouble Locals

Even after the monsoon officially arrived people are still dealing with humid weather and strong heat. The sky looks cloudy in many cities but it has not rained enough to bring real relief. Because of this people are feeling confused as the forecast keeps changing or missing the mark.

Rainfall Expected to Increase Soon

According to IMD the monsoon could become stronger in the next two days and cover more parts of the state. Farmers are being told to wait for weather updates and avoid working in the fields during storm alerts or lightning warnings. It is important to stay alert during this time.

Administration on Alert as Storm Risk Grows

The state government and disaster management teams have asked all districts to stay ready for emergencies. People are advised not to hide under trees during lightning and also to stay away from electric poles or open grounds when it is raining. Local teams are ready in case any rescue or help is needed.

Next 48 Hours Critical for UP

If the rain increases in the next two days then it may help farmers and also bring relief to many cities. But it could also bring risks in low lying areas or where drainage is poor. People are being told to keep checking official weather updates and follow safety rules during storms or lightning.
