UP Weather Alert: Heavy Rain in 46 Districts, Lightning Warning in 64, Lucknow Sees Temp Drop

UP Weather Alert: Monsoon has now become fully active in Uttar Pradesh, and its effect is being seen in almost every part of the state. It rained intermittently from morning to late at night on Sunday in many districts of eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, including the capital, Lucknow. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain and lightning for the next 24 hours.

Heavy rain forecast in 46 districts, lightning warning in 64 districts

According to the Meteorological Center, the next 24 hours can be challenging for the state. Heavy rain is expected in major districts like Siddharthnagar, Bahraich, Sitapur, Agra, Aligarh, Lucknow, Meerut, and Kanpur. Also, there is a danger of lightning along with thunder in 64 districts.

Downpour throughout the day in Lucknow, temperature drops by 5 degrees

Sunday was the first day of Sawan in the capital Lucknow, when the speed of the drops did not stop. The rain continued from morning to night. Malihabad recorded the highest rainfall of 61.5 mm, while the airport area recorded 34.7 mm of rainfall. By noon, the city had received 18.1 mm of rainfall. This led to a drop of 4.8 degrees in temperature, and the maximum temperature was 28.5 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall and temperature report in the state so far

A total of 266.7 mm of rainfall has occurred in Lucknow between June 1 and August 3. On the other hand, an average of 332.4 mm rainfall has been recorded in eastern Uttar Pradesh and 411.9 mm rainfall in western Uttar Pradesh. The average rainfall of the entire state has been close to 365.1 mm. However, despite the rain, there has been no complete relief from humidity.

Public life is affected, but relief is expected

While the continuous rainfall has brought relief to crops and the water level, problems like waterlogging and traffic jams have also come to the fore. The Meteorological Department has clearly indicated that the pace of rain may continue in the coming days, due to which some relief is expected.
