Three Nights without Darshan have Left Devotees Inflicted by Sorrow

For the last three nights, Saint Premanand Maharaj has held the most-awaited and biggest foot procession of the early morning, commencing from 2 a.m. normally. Many devotees travel bare miles just to partake in the holy walk and feel the saint’s divine aura. Due to ill health, the Maharaj has not been able to come out, and the streets are filled now with piercing silence, prayers, and chants, all through tears.

With hers silent but still leading the procession every night- as early as 11 p.m., intricate rangolis lining the way demonstrate these speakers fill the air with “zeal” of Radhe Radhe in bhajan anticipation. But, on hearing the news of illness, the jubilations came to a sudden end, with many attachments not leaving the spot.

That Glimpsed Thousands

Thursday morning rounded up the drama, and emotionally, there was a peak. Around five in the morning when Saint Premanand Maharaj, with a failing health body, proudly stepped into his car for proceeding, intending to make the journey to Shri Radha Kelikunj in quiet. What awaited him, of course, were adoring eyes waiting

At his ashram, meanwhile, thousands are still reported thronging to pray for his quick recovery. Vrindavan felt almost palpable spiritual heaviness, not just of sorrow but of the strong connect between a saint and his followers. Each wistful whisper of prayer and tearful eye had a common heartfelt aspiration: may Maharaj regain his health
soon.
