Honda Jazz, which was once very popular in India, is once again in the news. Recently, pictures of its facelift version have been leaked from China, where it is known as Honda Fit. This new model has been prepared in partnership with GAC-Honda and will be launched in China soon.
Changed exterior look
The biggest change in this new facelift of 2025 has been seen in its front look. New and sharp headlights, wide air intake at the bottom and a pointed front design give it a more stylish and powerful look than before. Visually, it now has more road presence than before.
Side and rear profile
The side profile of the vehicle has been kept almost the same, but it has dual-tone ORVMs, black B-pillars and standard door handles. Not much has been changed at the rear as well. Only a small plastic extension has been added which looks like a rear diffusor.
Size and interior
Now this car has become slightly bigger than before. Its length is 4,196 mm, which is more than the old model. Although the pictures of its interiors have not been revealed yet, it is expected that some new features will be included in it.
The current model has features like 8-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, dual-tone leather seats, automatic climate control and rear AC vents. Apart from this, it also gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, electronic parking brake and multi-function steering wheel.
Engine and Safety
This facelift version will be given only 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder iVTEC petrol engine, which generates 122hp power and 145Nm torque. It is mated to a CVT gearbox.
For safety, it has been given a safety technology called Honda Sensing, which provides advanced features like lane departure warning, auto braking, active cruise control and lane keeping assist through a camera based system.
Will Jazz return to India?
Honda Jazz was discontinued in India due to emission norms and increasing competition. Now that there is talk of its new model, some people are expecting its return to India.
However, no official information has come from the company in this regard. It is certain that the length of the new model has increased to more than 4 meters, due to which it will not be able to get the same tax benefits as before. This means that if it comes to India, its price can be very high.
Honda’s plan for India
Honda is now focusing on the SUV and EV segment in India. By FY 2026-27, the company plans to launch several new models, including an electric car based on Elevate and a new 7-seater SUV. Apart from this, a new sub-4 meter SUV and a new EV based on the PF2 platform are also in the plan. Also, the next generation model of Honda City will also be upgraded to the PF2 platform.
