Ingredients to make Seek Kabab :

  • Minced meat (chicken or mutton): 500 grams
  • Onion (grated): 1 medium
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves (finely chopped): 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies (finely chopped) 2
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste.
  • Gram flour or egg for binding 1 tbsp or 1 egg
  • Oil/ghee for frying

Method to make Seekh Kabab:

Take minced meat in a bowl and add all the spices, ginger-garlic paste, chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, lemon juice, and binding agent (gram flour/egg). Knead the mixture well to make it uniform. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Apply a little oil on your palms.

Roll the minced meat mixture on a seekh (or a wooden stick like a pencil) into a long cylindrical shape. Heat a little oil in a non-stick pan and fry the kebabs on all sides until golden brown. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the kebabs on a baking tray and bake for 15–20 minutes.

Brush ghee or butter in the middle. If you have a tandoor, cook it for 10–15 minutes until the kebabs are golden brown. Serve hot with green chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges.
