Pahalgam Carnage Sparks Counter Strike in Uri

The Indian Army initiated in an intensive counter operation in North Kashmir’s Uri sector almost immediately after the horror scene Pahalgam had painted by a 26 casualty terror strike the night before there. The army action led to surgical killing of two infiltrators before the event could develop into what could as well have been another deadly incident.

Gunfire Erupts at Line of Control

Indian forces sighted suspicious movements near the Sarjian area of Uri Nala in Baramulla district, close to the Line of Control. The advancing terrorists had crossed into Indian territory but were challenged by troops from Chinar Corps. The near battle commenced and after heavy exchanges of gunfire both militants were killed.

The army captured an impressive cache of arms and War like materials including assault rifles, grenades and other armaments indicative of an assault that could have potentially gone large scale. The ongoing operation indicates an uptick in the threat level across Jammu and Kashmir.

The recent deadly terror attack in Anantnag district, Pahalgam had 26 civilians killed most of whom were tourists. Now the massacre has turned the country mad with fury and led to activities of search and rescue operations all over the region.

Such incidents are considered to be a concerted effort between cross border terror organizations to disturb the peace in Kashmir Valley. Intelligence agencies had also treated April as sensitive as it witnessed increasing infiltration attempts thus bringing confirmation to predictions made possible by the attacks.

Indian Army High Alert as Valley Tense

The army has therefore increased surveillance and intensified patrolling along the LoC. Local police and paramilitary forces are also on high alert conducting house to house searches in vulnerable areas. All efforts are directed at preventing any further loss of civilian lives and dismantling terror networks operating from across the border.

Again Delicate Kashmir Peace Threatened

That was really all too soon for Kashmir to be at peace. Once again there is repair of kindling fires that had begun to fade away. While national eyes were locked on the unfolding intra-state developments, the Indian Army struck with great swiftness in Uri again marking a critical defensive success in border security in the volatile valley.
