Tata Altroz CNG Facelift Spotted Testing – Major Design and Feature Upgrades Coming Soon

Tata Motors is preparing to bring the CNG version of its premium hatchback Altroz in a new avatar. Recently, some pictures have surfaced during the testing of its facelift model, which makes it clear that the company is working on making this vehicle more stylish and up-to-date.

What will change from outside?

The new Altroz CNG facelift has been tested completely covered so far, but still many changes can be seen in its front design. Its front look now looks more sharp and modern, due to which it seems to be following Tata’s new design language. Changes in the front grille and bumper give it a sporty look.

During testing, a model was seen with steel wheels, from which it can be guessed that it was a model of a lower variant. At the same time, alloy wheels of new design have also been seen in the earlier spotted units. Looking at the rear, new changes are also expected in the rear bumper and tail lights.

Inside glimpse

Although the cabin was also covered, some things have still become clear. Piano black finish has been seen near the AC vents and a new two-spoke steering wheel, which also has Tata’s illuminated logo. This is the same steering which is now coming in models like Nexon as well.

Possible new features

The new Altroz CNG is expected to come with many features that will make it more premium than before. Such as – ventilated front seats, 10.2-inch digital screen, ambient lighting, auto dimming IRVM and electric driver seat. In terms of safety, now 6 airbags can be standard in it and modern technology like ADAS can also come.

Talking about engine and power

The Altroz CNG facelift will get the same 1.2 liter dual fuel engine that comes in the current model. On CNG mode, this engine gives 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque. There will be only 5-speed manual gearbox for transmission.

At the same time, there will be no major change in the petrol and diesel versions of Altroz. The petrol engine gives 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque and it has 5-speed manual and 6-speed DCA transmission. The diesel engine comes with 90 PS power and 200 Nm torque, which is available only in manual transmission. The Tata Altroz Racer version comes with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine that generates 120 PS power and 170 Nm torque.

Who will compete with?

Altroz CNG will compete directly with Maruti Baleno CNG, which gives 77.5 PS power and 98.5 Nm torque with a 1.2 liter engine. Baleno CNG is also available only in manual transmission. Hyundai i20 is also in this segment, but it does not have a CNG version at present.

Launch Timeline

The Tata Altroz CNG facelift is likely to be launched in the second half of 2025. Testing is going on continuously, which makes it clear that the launch is not far away now.
