Increased Indo-Pak tension with the Indian Air Force’s Power Move is Aakraman

Rafale war drills reflect the IAF’s determination to keep its battlefield readiness at an optimal level

India is moving the exercise Aakraman, a large field tactical exercise in the central region of the country, to show the extent it can enhance military strength in the offensive mode. India’s frontline Rafale fighter jets have played a major role in this massive exercise, clearly highlighting the Indian Air Force’s enhanced firepower and
tactical strength.

Central sector missions feature Rafale jets front and center

The IAF has started operating two squadrons of Rafale jets, stationed at Ambala, Haryana, and Hashimara, West Bengal, in the current times. These state-of-the-art Fighters are in front of Exercise Aakraman, doing high-end mission profiles to replicate actual battle situations. Defence sources say the Rafales are engaging in sophisticated ground assault operations spanning several types of topography, including flat plains and mountains, as well as electronic warfare exercises.

High-tech weapons increase, and the strategic mobility of flying guns makes the IAF tougher

Neither do these acts display only air power. But behind this capability of rapid troop movement across the divisions lies mobility of the body, moved through scaling resource utilities at airbases all over India, and even those belonging to eastern commands. Some of these include the Meteor air-to-air missiles, the Rampage, and
Rocks precision bombs. It is on the basis of such important developments in aerial contestation and offensive capabilities towards India that its might in South Asian skies is very strong.

In view of the prevailing issues in the area, the timing of the exercise leaves one with little choice

Aakraman – Exercise when India and Pakistan are virtually reciprocating each other’s fangs. In a fresh blow to already strained relations, the recent flare-up of the nearly forgotten Pahalgam incident in Jammu and Kashmir has added more tension to an already difficult situation. On the other hand, the Indian Air Force has maintained that the exercise is being long-planned, and the timing chosen reflects the dire and explicit deterrent posture taken. The Air Headquarters closely monitors the drills involving senior pilots in the IAF, often using the title being “Top Guns.”

Building superiority from Balakot strikes

After the attack on Balakot in 2019, the IAF has been taking steps to prove its operational superiority. This improvement has been ensured further by the introduction of Rafale. India has placed itself firmly in the position to counter a great diversity of aerial threats, including enemy surveillance aircraft, combined with the use
of force multipliers such as the S-400 air defense system.

Exercise Aakraman is not just a routine exercise but a high-end operation with serious strategic implications for the Indian Air Force. It symbolizes operational readiness of the Indian Air Force in battle and the capability to move at a fast reaction in a politically sensitive area.
