Maruti Suzuki’s Upcoming 5-Seater SUV to Rival Hyundai Creta – Launch in 3 Months

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to further strengthen its SUV range in the Indian market this year. The company is now working on a brand new 5-seater mid-size SUV, which will directly challenge the Hyundai Creta. The special thing is that this new SUV will be sold through Maruti’s Arena dealership network and not from premium Nexa showrooms.
Launch timeline and testing updates
According to sources, this new SUV can be launched in India within the next three months. It has recently been seen testing with heavy covering on the roads of Gurugram. Gurugram is the same place where Maruti’s manufacturing plant is located. This SUV looks similar to the Grand Vitara in its size and looks, which is why it is speculated that it may be built on the same platform.

Design can get a glimpse of e-Vitara
The design of this upcoming SUV can be inspired by e-Vitara, which is Maruti’s first electric car and whose price will be announced in September 2025. The new SUV can get new LED headlamps, fog lamps, sporty bumpers and embossed bonnet. Along with this, Y-shaped alloy wheels can also be given in it which will give it a modern look.
Glimpse of interior and features
Although the interior of this SUV has not been revealed yet, it is expected that its cabin can be similar to Grand Vitara and Brezza. It is likely to be given many upmarket features like:
- Electronic parking brake
- Power adjustment for driver seat
- Air purifier with PM 2.5 display
- Rear door sunshade
- LED cabin lights
Along with this, this SUV can come with 6 airbags in all variants, which will also take full care of safety.

Engine and transmission details
Mechanically, this SUV can be equipped with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder mild-hybrid engine, which is already being used in Grand Vitara and Brezza. It can be offered in both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Price and launch preparation
The expected ex-showroom price of this SUV can start from Rs 11 lakh and go up to Rs 16 lakh. It will compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate and VW Taigun already present in the market.
