TVS Norton Motorcycle : Five years ago, TVS Motor Company bought Britain’s famous motorcycle brand Norton Motorcycles. Now the company has decided that it will be launched in the Indian market. Norton Motorcycles will be brought to India to compete with companies like Royal Enfield, Triumph, Harley-Davidson, Jawa and Yezdi. TVS has officially given this information.
When will it be launched in India?
TVS Motor has announced that Norton Motorcycles will be launched in India by the end of 2025. In the initial phase, these bikes will be imported as CBU (Completely Built Unit). This means that the bike will be fully prepared and sent directly to India from the Solihull plant in the UK.

Currently, three Norton bikes are available in the international market:
- Commando 961
- V4SV
- V4CR
Their prices can be between ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh. These three models are most likely to be launched in India. Initially, they will be introduced as Halo Products, so that the brand’s identity can be strengthened in India.
What will be the future plan?
TVS plans to produce Norton bikes with small engines in India in the coming time. It is believed that the company is working on two new platforms:
The first model can be around 450cc, which is likely to have a single cylinder engine. This can become the cheapest Norton bike.
The second model can be a 650cc twin-cylinder engine, which will be made keeping in mind the mid-segment customers.
Benefit of India-UK FTA
With the agreement on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the United Kingdom, the import duty can be reduced from 100% to only 10%. British auto companies will get direct benefit from this, including Norton Motorcycles. Due to this, their bikes can become a little cheaper in India.
TVS’s big investment plan
TVS bought the Norton brand for about ₹ 153 crores. After this, the company is investing about ₹ 1,000 crores on this brand. TVS aims to launch 6 new models of Norton in the market by the year 2027. That is, Norton will have a strong presence in India in the coming 2–3 years.
