Launch date and variants

The new generation Skoda Kodiaq is being launched in India on 17 April 2025. It will be offered in two main variants, Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K). The Sportline variant will get a black exterior theme and sporty look, while the L&K variant will come with a more premium and luxury touch.

Engine and performance

The new Kodiaq will get a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, which generates 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. It will get a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which makes it excellent in all types of road conditions.

Design and size

This time the exterior of the Kodiaq has been kept more angular and sharp. It has split LED headlamps, butterfly grille and wide air dam which give it a bold look. Its length is 4,758 mm, which is 59 mm more than the previous model, meaning there will be more space inside now.

Interior and Features

Inside the Kodiaq, premium features like a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10-inch digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, ambient lighting and high-end sound system will be available. The gear selector is now placed on the steering column, making the center console more spacious.

Safety and ADAS

The new Kodiaq will get a Level 2 ADAS system which includes Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and 360 degree camera. Along with this, safety technologies like 9 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS and ESC have been provided.

Expected price and competition in India

The new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be priced around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with large SUVs like Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan and MG Gloster.
