Early Morning Blaze Halts TV’s Top Show

A sudden fire broke out early Monday morning on the set of Anupamaa which is India’s most popular TV show. The fire started around 5 AM in Goregaon Film City so it quickly spread across the set and damaged everything before any help could reach. The shooting had not started as the shift was scheduled for 7 AM.
Fire Brigade Rushes to Control the Flames
Security staff saw the smoke and called the fire brigade immediately. Five fire engines reached the location in time and controlled the fire. There were no injuries as the actors and most of the crew had not yet arrived for the day’s shoot.
Crores Worth of Equipment Destroyed
The fire destroyed the set structures production gear and lighting equipment so the estimated loss could be in crores. The damaged set was built near the main Film City office, and luckily, the nearby set of Amar Upadhyay’s show Daari was not affected.
Not the First Tragedy on Set
This is not the first time Anupamaa’s production has faced danger. Around six months ago, a camera assistant lost his life after getting an electric shock on another set used by the same show near the Bigg Boss location. These repeated incidents are raising serious questions about the safety of television sets.
