Ingredients to make tandoori chicken : 

  • Chicken leg piece (or boneless) 4
  • Curd 1/2 cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste, 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1/2 tsp
  • Kasuri methi 1 tsp
  • Mustard oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste.
  • Pinch of red food color (optional)

How to make Tandoori chicken  :

Make holes in the chicken pieces so that the spices can penetrate inside. In a bowl, add curd, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, all the spices, oil, and food coloring. Marinate the chicken in this mixture for at least 3-4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the chicken on grill mode for 25-30 minutes, flipping in between. Brush butter on top. Heat the pan and add some oil. Cook the chicken pieces well on both sides on medium flame till the burning smell comes and the color turns brown.

Serve the tandoori chicken with onion slices, lemon wedges, and green chutney. Serve with garnish. Sprinkle some chaat masala on top. Smoke the coal for a smoky taste (put desi ghee on burning coal in a lidded vessel and place it with the chicken). You can also make boneless chicken tikka using the same method.
