Cauliflower (cut into small pieces)—2 cups
Refined flour—1/2 cup
Cornflour—1/4 cup
Red chili powder—1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder—1/4 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste—1 tsp
Salt—according to taste
Water—for making batter
Oil—for deep frying
Oil—2 tbsp
Garlic—1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Ginger—1 tsp (finely chopped)
Green chili—1 (finely chopped)
Onion—1 (finely chopped)
Capsicum—1/2 cup (chopped pieces)
Soy sauce—1 tbsp
Tomato sauce—2 tbsp
Red chili sauce—1 tbsp
Vinegar—1 tsp
Salt—according to taste
Black pepper—1/4 tsp
Green onion—for garnish
Method to make Gobi Manchurian:
Boil the cauliflower in hot water for 5 minutes, then sieve it. Make a thick batter by mixing flour, cornflour, chili powder, salt, and ginger-garlic paste. Add cabbage pieces to it and mix. Deep-fry them in hot oil till they turn golden. Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies and fry. Add onion and capsicum and cook till they become slightly crunchy. Then add soy sauce, tomato sauce, chili sauce, and vinegar. Add some water (if you want gravy) and boil. Now add fried cabbage and mix. Garnish with green onion. Eat Dry Cabbage Manchurian as a snack or serve it with Chinese fried rice/noodles. Gravy Manchurian can be served with roti, naan, or rice.
