Crispy Gram Flour Namkeen, Perfect Tea-Time Snack

Ingredients for making gram flour namkeen :

gam Flour (Gram Flour)—1 cup

Rice Flour—2 tbsp (to make it more crispy)

Turmeric Powder—1/4 tsp

Red Chilli Powder—1/2 tsp

Celery—1/2 tsp

Salt—according to taste

Green Coriander—1 tbsp

Oil—1 tablespoon 

Water—as needed (for making the batter)

Oil—for frying

Method of Preparation gram flour namkeen :

In a large bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, turmeric, red chili powder, celery, salt, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Now prepare the batter by adding water little by little. The batter should be neither too thin nor too thick. Heat oil in a pan. Keep the flame medium.

Now pour the gram flour batter in the oil with a jhara (perforated spoon) so that thin strips are formed. Fry them till they become golden and crispy. Take out the fried gram flour namkeen on a tissue paper so that the excess oil drains out. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Serve gram flour namkeen with tea, coffee, or raita. It can be stored in an airtight container for 10-12 days.
