Deadly Bus Crash Report, Poonch Jammu & Kashmir: Tuesday morning’s horrific Poonch bus crash in Jammu & Kashmir took over four lives, with more than 40 injured after an illegal private passenger bus fell into the deep gorge.
Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir Thursday ,A bus with more than capacity passengers slammed into a deep gorge while en route from Ghani village to Mendhar an Mankote area in afternoon.

4 Dead, 40+ Injured in Jammu & Kashmir Bus Crash on Highway
Media reports that at about 9:20 AM on Tuesday, the bus carrying a group of passengers lost control and hit a cliff in Sangra on the road to Mendhar. Four were killed on the spot, and more than forty were injured. The casualties included 45-year-old Mohammad Majid, who was on leave from the Assam army, 55-year-old Shakeela Begum, and another 60-year-old man called Noor Hussain, all of whom tragically lost their lives in this misadventure.

Rescue Teams Rush to the Scene: 40+ people in critical condition
Police of the concerned area were immediately sent on rescue as per the SOS call, and a massive rescue operation was conducted by local authorities. The police had deployed 15 ambulances to the scene of the accident and were also assisted by security forces, CRPF, Army, and local people. The injured were under immediate evacuation, as eight persons succumbed. Seven were hauled up to the Govt Medical College (GMC) Hospital (Jammu) for specific treatment.

Government and Local Leaders Respond to Tragedy
Lt. Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, condoled with the families of the victims. He also asked the injured to be out of the safe rapidly. J & K Minister Javed Ahmed Rana maintained on social media that the government would give all help to families affected by this. He also instructed the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu to provide immediate assistance, including transporting the injured on board air ambulances to GMC Jammu.

The bus crash in Poonch, concerns on the roads the state of road safety especially in hilly areas. The authorities have announced that an RTI will be filed and they are working on increasing infrastructure to make the roads safer.
