Required Ingredients to make Semolina Cake :
- Semolina (Rava) 1 cup
- Curd 1/2 cup
- Milk 1/2 cup (lukewarm)
- Sugar 1/2 cup
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- Baking soda 1/4 tsp
- Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
- Refined oil or ghee, 1/4 cup
- Dry fruits 2 tbsp (chopped)
Method of preparation Semolina Cake :
Mix semolina, curd, and sugar in a bowl. Add lukewarm milk gradually and make a thick batter. Now add oil and vanilla essence and mix well. Cover the batter and let it set for 15–20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add baking powder and baking soda to the batter and mix well. Grease a cake tin or steel vessel with ghee and pour the batter in it. Decorate with dried fruits. If cooking without an oven, add salt or sand to a heavy-bottomed pan and preheat it (5-7 minutes on medium flame). Place the cake tin on a stand or plate and place it in the pan and cover it. Cook on low flame for 30–40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. If baking in the oven, bake at 180°C for 30-35 minutes. Cut the cake into pieces after it cools down and serve with tea or milk. For children’s tiffin or party Perfect. You can also add banana or coconut powder for flavor to the cake. The batter should be neither too thick nor too thin—it should be medium. You can increase or decrease the amount of sugar as per your taste.
