Government Declares 8.25% Interest for PF Employees.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has taken a significant step that affects more than 7 crore employees. It has retained the interest rate at 8.25% for the financial year 2024-25. The officials announced this after a meeting with the Central Board of Trustees (CBT).
Surely, employees will get their interest transferred just like last year. Though the as-yet unconfirmed date regarding the receipt of interest is something to report, it is likely said to be around the second week of April when the amount will be credited.
April marks the beginning of a new financial year and many employees eagerly await the clear variation of accumulated interest over the period. Since the same rates as last year have been retained, it is expected to bring some relief to millions dependent on PF savings for financial stability.
When will the amount be credited for interest payment?
The EPFO however, has not yet made any official announcement regarding the date of transaction. Several reports say that interest might be credited in some time during April.
This delay is because of all those procedural formalities going on before the transfer. However, members are advised to monitor their accounts and keep them updated through official EPFO channels.
