Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the retirement savings body of India, is ready to launch its highly-anticipated EPFO 3.0 platform in June 2025. What makes this digital facelift exciting There are a lot of futuristic features that we can look forward to, and something that’s never been done before — ATM-style PF withdrawals. But the real showstopper? Starting in June claims up to ₹5 lakh will be settled instantly, taking away delays and paperwork almost entirely.
Claims Settled in Just Three Days — and It’s About to Get Even Faster
Meanwhile, EPFO officials disclosed that almost 50% of the claims processed from FY 2025 claims had been disposed of in 3 days. Just between April 1 and June 5, an astounding 68.96 lakh claims were settled in three days. This efficiency is preparing the ground for a much more substantial upgrade that has the potential to change the way workers get their hard-earned money.
Auto-Settlement Limit to Jump from ₹1 Lakh to ₹5 Lakh
The auto-settlement threshold is currently ₹1 lakh, which is claims up to ₹1 lakh that meet all the conditions (for payment) are processed without human intervention. But that’s about to change. Now, EPFO wants to jack up this limit to ₹5 lakh so that crores of depositors will be able to get their money in time without facing any hurdles. The best part? No red tape. The Central Provident Fund Commissioner can do this without the approval of the Central Board of Trustees.

This is a relief for crores of salaried people who have faced tremendous hassle due to inconveniently long delays in PF withdrawal for emergency purposes such as medical needs, education, housing and for marraige.
