Kevin to remain in Europe:
After a successful stint at Premier League club Manchester City, where he stayed for a total of 10 seasons after joining in 2015, De Bruyne announced towards the end of the 2025 season that he would be departing the club after 10 long years.
Many believed that De Bruyne, who is around his mid-30s (33 at the time of writing) was way past his prime and could not compete in the top leagues due to his constant injury issues, would be departing Europe and most probably join a club in the Saudi League or MLS. But, to the surprise of many fans, De Bruyne stated that he had no intent to leave Europe as of now and announced that he would be joining Napoli at the beginning of the next season.
Multiple Accolades at Manchester City:
De Bruyne enjoyed a very successful career at Manchester City. The trophies that De Bruyne won in his time at Manchester City are as follows:
- 5 Premier League Titles
- 2 FA Cups
- 5 Carabao Cups
- 1 Champions League title
Kevin De Bruyne, who is a really creative midfielder, managed to score a total of 102 goals and 164 assists for the Blues, which makes him one of, if not the best, midfielders to have played in the Premier League.
Transfer Fee and Wages:
According to speculations, De Bruyne has joined Napoli on a 2-year deal with an option to extend for a 3rd year.
His wages are speculated to be around 200k a week, and he is expected to earn around 12 million in total in his 2 year deal.
New Beginning at Napoli:
This transfer can reignite the flame in his career and bring even more glory to him as a professional. De Bruyne, who is at the latter stages of his career, would surely like to leave top-tier football with a bang, as it could be even his last few years as a professional.
