Ingredients to make Besan Cheela :

Besan (gram flour)—1 cup

Onion—1 (finely chopped)

Tomato—1 (finely chopped)

Green chili—1 (finely chopped)

Green Coriander—2 tbsp (finely chopped)

Turmeric powder—1/4 tsp

Red chili powder—1/2 tsp

Celery—1/4 tsp

Salt—according to taste

Water—about 3/4 cup (for making the batter)

Oil—for frying

Method of making Besan Cheela : 

Take gram flour in a bowl, and add turmeric, chili powder, celery, and salt to it. Now add onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves to it. Add water slowly and prepare a thick but runny batter. Heat a non-stick tawa or pan on medium flame. Add some oil and spread it. Pour a ladle of batter on the pan and spread it in a round shape. Sprinkle some oil on top. Fry on low flame till it becomes golden and crispy on both sides. Serve besan cheela with tomato chutney, green chutney, or curd. You can also add grated paneer, carrot, or spinach to it. This is also a perfect and nutritious option for children’s tiffin.
