Hero Vida VX2 : Hero MotoCorp is a well-known two-wheeler company in India, which is now rapidly moving towards electric vehicles. In April 2025, sales of Hero’s Vida electric scooters saw a 540% increase. This figure is compared to last year when only 956 units were sold in April 2024 and 6,123 units have been sold in April 2025 this year. After this increase, Vida has become the 5th best-selling electric two-wheeler brand in India. Now Hero MotoCorp is going to launch its new electric scooty Vida VX2 on July 1, so that more customers can be added.

Preparation for different variants of Vida VX2

Hero has recently trademarked three more names along with Vida VX2 – Vida VX2 Pro, Vida VX2 Plus and Vida VX2 Go. It is clear from this that the company is also going to bring different variants of this scooty in the market. This will give customers options according to their budget and needs. The company has already attracted more buyers by reducing the prices of its Vida V1 and Vida V2 scooters. Now with Vida VX2, it wants to target an even bigger market.

Earlier this year, Hero showcased another new scooty Vida Z at the India Mobility Expo. This scooty was first introduced at the EICMA Motor Show in November 2024 and has been designed for global markets like India as well as Europe. Vida Z was also said to be launched in July 2025. In such a situation, now the question arises whether Vida VX2 is the new name of Vida Z?

Are Vida Z and Vida VX2 the same?

This is quite possible because no different variants have been shown for Vida Z, but the names of many variants of Vida VX2 have been trademarked. It is possible that Hero has changed the name of Vida Z to Vida VX2 due to marketing strategy or some legal reason. Anyway, nowadays companies keep changing names, so that the product can be presented more attractive and according to the market.

Battery, range and features of Vida VX2

The company has not yet given any official information about the performance, battery and features of Vida VX2. But if we believe that Vida VX2 is actually Vida Z, then its base variant will have a 2.2 kWh battery, which is expected to give a range of more than 100 kilometers. At the same time, the top variant will have a setup of two batteries whose total capacity can be up to 3.4 kWh. Like Vida Z, the battery in it will be removable, so that customers can charge it at home as well.

Special focus on design and motor

Vida VX2 will have a permanent magnet motor which will come with direct drive technology. Its design is different from Vida V2 and it will have a more simple and family friendly look. Its looks have been inspired by the style of common petrol scooters like Honda Activa or TVS Jupiter, making it better for everyday use.

Great option for those with low budget

Features like rectangular headlight, TFT digital display, USB charging port, front storage space, rear backrest and smart connectivity will be seen in this scooty. With all this, its price can also be kept lower than Vida V2, making it a great option for mid-budget buyers.

Waiting for July 1 – new name or new model?

Hero MotoCorp is constantly updating its electric vehicles and is trying to reach more customers with new models. Vida VX2 can prove to be a big step in that direction. Now it remains to be seen whether the company will launch it with the name Vida Z or Vida VX2 at the time of launch on July 1. Whatever the name, it is certain that this scooter will further accelerate the pace of the electric segment in the Indian market.
