Required Ingredients to make garlic naan :

  • Refined flour—2 cups
  • Curd—1/2 cup
  • Baking powder—1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda—1/4 tsp
  • Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Salt—according to taste
  • Oil—1 tbsp
  • Water—as required (for kneading) (for serving)
  • Finely chopped garlic—1.5 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves—2 tbsp
  • Butter—2 tbsp (melted)

Method of preparation to make garlic naan :

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a vessel. Add curd and some water to it and knead soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it in a warm place for 2 hours so that it swells. Now make dough balls. While rolling, add some garlic and coriander leaves on top and press lightly with a rolling pin. Roll the naan in an oval or round shape. Heat a thick pan on high flame. Apply water on one side of the naan and keep the same side on the pan. When the naan starts swelling and bubbles appear, then turn the pan and bake it upside down on the gas or bake it straight by turning it with tongs. Remove the naan from the pan and apply melted butter on top. Serve hot garlic naan with paneer butter masala, dal makhani, chicken curry, or mutton korma. Serve with the dish. If you want, you can make the naan even softer by adding some milk to the dough. For tandoori flavor, heat the pan very well and flip the naan and bake it directly on the gas. If you have an oven or tandoor, you can bake it at 220°C for 5-7 minutes.
