Honda CBR650R & CB650R : Honda is preparing to launch its two new 650cc bikes, CBR650R and CB650R, in India with a new technological update. The company has recently released a teaser of both these bikes, showing their silhouettes. It is believed that this time Honda’s new E-Clutch technology will be seen in these bikes, which has already been introduced in the international market.

What is E-Clutch technology?

E-Clutch is a smart clutch system that allows the rider to shift gears without using the clutch lever while changing gears. However, if desired, the rider can also use manual clutch control. Its benefits will be felt especially in traffic, where the bike has to be started and stopped intermittently.

This technology has sensors and electronic actuators that control the clutch automatically. That is, when the bike stops, the clutch works properly automatically so that the bike does not stop. This system is inspired by Honda’s Quick Shifter and Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) but works with a conventional gearbox.

Shifting experience will be personalized

Honda has also taken care that the rider’s riding experience remains intact. So the rider can decide for himself how much resistance he needs while shifting gears. There will be three modes in it – soft, medium and hard. This feature will work in both upshift and downshift.

There will be no major change in the design

There will be no major change in the design of CBR650R and CB650R at present. Styling elements will remain the same as the old models, but now “E-Clutch” branding will also be seen on them. Also, the clutch case will look slightly larger and different so that this new technology can be identified separately.

The engine will remain the same powerful

Both these bikes will get the same 648cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which generates power of about 94 bhp and torque of 63 Nm. Due to the E-Clutch system, the weight of the CBR650R will increase by 2 kg to 211 kg, which is due to this new technology.

When will it be launched?

Although Honda has not yet given any confirmed information about its launch date, but after the teaser it is almost certain that its launch will happen very soon.

Slight increase in price possible

Due to the new E-Clutch system, the price of these bikes may be slightly higher than the current models. But this technology will prove to be very beneficial for those who ride bikes in traffic daily and feel trouble with clutch control.
