Hyundai Creta vs Kia Seltos : Which One Wins the SUV Battle?

Hyundai Creta  vs Kia Seltos : Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos  are among India’s top selling compact SUVs. The vehicles are corporate twins but possess a unique look and the way the two vehicles look. Let us put them side by side so that you will have an idea of which car to purchase.

Design and Looks

Kia Seltos is aggressive-looking and stylish. It is accompanied by a trendy “Tiger Nose” front grille, trendy LED lights, and fierce road presence. Hyundai Creta is a bit trendy and newer. It is accompanied by a wide front grille and trendy lights that give it a unique look compared to the rest. They are both good cars, but if you desire fierce and bold appearances, Seltos can be your car. If you like more smooth and sleek appearances, then Creta is for you.

Size and Space

Both the SUVs are quite close in terms of size as both are based on the same platform. Kia Seltos is merely a few millimeters longer and broader than Creta. So it would be negligibly more spacious from the inside, especially at the rear seat. But the difference is abysmally negligible and most won’t even notice.

Interior and Features

Both the cars are loaded with goodies inside. You get a big screen (10.25-inch touchscreen), Bose audio system, panoramic sunroof, and both ventilated seats. The Seltos receives some more trimmings in the way of a Head-Up Display and marginally larger alloy wheels. The Creta receives an air-conditioned glove compartment and puddle lights, which is thoughtful little touches. Both the interiors are plush and premium.

Engine and Performance

Both cars share the same engine options: a 1.5L petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol, and a 1.5L diesel. Both are therefore extremely similar in terms of power and performance. Manual, automatic, CVT, or DCT can also be chosen depending on the engine. If fun and power are your plan, then the turbo petrol engine will be best for you. If you must drive far and wide, the diesel will be cost-effective. There is not much difference in the feel between them, so pick the one whose feel you prefer.

Safety Features

Both Seltos and Creta are at the top in safety. Both feature 6 airbags, ABS, traction control, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) on high trim. ADAS features like lane keep, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control come on some versions of both. Rain-sensing wipers on the Seltos, but Auto Hold comes on lower auto trims of the Creta. Both are extremely safe SUVs overall.

Price

The prices of both cars are almost the same. The Creta varies from ₹11 lakh to ₹20.15 lakh. The Seltos varies from slightly lower price of Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh. Hence, the base model of the Seltos is slightly lower in price, but the top model of the Creta is slightly lower in price. The price difference is very minimal, though.

If you would prefer something sportier to glance at and touch, something a bit more aggressive-looking SUV with some goodies included, then your best bet is the Kia Seltos.

If you would prefer something smoothed and sleeker-looking with barely any extra comfort benefits, then another excellent choice would be the Hyundai Creta. Both are stunningly feature-laden, stunningly comfortable, and stunningly safe as well. Realistically speaking, either way you cannot go wrong.
