AFCAT 2/2025 Notification Released: IAF Member Recruitment for Officers Opening June 2
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for AFCAT 2/2025 announcing recruitment for officers for Flying and Ground Duty branches across Technical and Non-Technical streams. NCC special entry is also available through AFCAT for candidates holding valid NCC credentials.

Vacancies and Age Limit
In total, there are 284 vacancies: Flying Branch (03 vacancies), Ground Duty (Technical) (156 vacancies), Ground Duty (Non-Technical) (125 vacancies).

The age limits are:
1.Flying Branch – 20 to 24 years (26 years with a valid DGCA CPL)
2.Ground Duty branches – 20 to 26 years

Selection Process
Selection consists of a written examination, psychological tests, group exercises, personal interview, document validation, and medical examination.
The AFCAT exam takes place over a period of 2 hours, consists of a total of 300 marks, consists of the following components:-
General Awareness
Verbal Ability in English
Numerical Ability
Military Aptitude
For candidates applying for Technical branches there will also be the EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) which is worth a maximum of 150 marks.
Application Fees and ID requirements
Fee: ₹550/- + GST (NCC Special Entry candidates do not pay)
ID requirements: Aadhaar card is a must, applicants should note that all details on the Aadhaar should be correct, as no edits will be allowed after the submission is done.
Training Schedule
Selected candidates will start training in July 2026 at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal (Hyderabad).
