August 2025 Bank Holidays: If you are thinking of going to the bank in the last week of August 2025, then this news is very important for you. Like every year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays this year as well. This list includes national holidays, religious festivals, and state-specific holidays. In such a situation, if you want to settle any important work related to your bank, then it is important to know first on which days the banks will be closed.
Banks will remain closed from 25 to 28 August next week
Next week, i.e., from 25 August to 28 August 2025, banking services will be affected on different occasions in many states across the country. Let’s see the complete information date-wise:
25 August 2025 (Monday) – Banks will be closed on the occasion of Srimanta Sankardev’s Disappearance in Guwahati.
27 August 2025 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in many major cities of the country, like Mumbai, Belapur, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Panaji, due to Ganesh Chaturthi / Samvatsari.
28 August 2025 (Thursday) – Banking work will not be done in Bhubaneswar and Panaji on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi (second day) / Nuakhai.
In this way, only three working days are fixed as holidays, but by combining the weekly holidays (Saturday and Sunday) falling between them, people may have to face the situation of banks being closed for four consecutive days.
Weekly Holidays of August 2025
According to the rules of the Reserve Bank of India, all banks across the country are closed every Sunday and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. The list of weekly holidays in August 2025 is as follows:

That is, banks will be closed on weekly holidays for a total of 7 days this month.
Important advice for customers
If you have to do any important work in the bank, like cash deposit, check clearance, demand draft, or other branch-based services, then plan in advance, keeping in mind this list of holidays. This will not cause you any inconvenience.
Digital banking services will remain operational
Although the bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, online banking, UPI, ATM, mobile banking, and net banking services will be available 24×7. That is, you can use facilities like cash withdrawal, money transfer, bill payment, and online transactions without any interruption.
